Just got the same thing, got "Your Credit limit has been increased to £2500. We'll confirm by post..."I have a barclaycard but this is definately not from barclaycard, I believe it is what the poster earlier suggested as the reply simple says "Barclaycard" not an actual number. Have emailed t-mobile to ask how these get resolved to a number and will be scouring my bill for any additional charges.Do not reply to this message!!

This number (one of many) belonging to 'Equifax' is another contrived way by 'Equifax' to blatently cheat the user out of their money, while supplying no service whatsoever or even attempting to !!   This Company uses all kinds of tricks, to fleece un-informed potential customers of their money, and should be prosecuted.

Got a call from this number saying it was barclaycard, asking me to confirm my date of birth. Told them i would not give my info out without knowing who i was talking too, they gave me this number. I am not going to call back incase its a scam. If it was Barclaycard they should have identified themselves and told me why they are calling me. then maybe i might trust them with my information but to call and ask my date of birth NO WAY....

I also received a text advising that my credit limit has been increased and to call that number if I would prefer my old limit. I closed my Barclaycard at least 5 years ago. When you look on the barclay card website the number does appear to be genuine and I called it from a different line. It did go through to Barclaycard who confirmed I have no card with them.I'm wondering if call the number on the text message directly from your mobile it routes through to a different number somehow, through to someone who is planning on using any details you give them to commit fraud?

got a text from this number today stating that my payment is due in the next few days and to call this number to make an automated payment.  If this really is Barclaycard, do they not realise that most people are very wary of receiving contact like this nowadays. and will ignore the text and make the payment in their usual way.  Maybe this is way the rates are so high, we are paying for all their texts

Like Andy above I have just received a text reading, "Your credit limit has been increased to £2500, Well confirm this by post. For questions or if you prefer your old limit, call 08448119111"Now being a young person whos only ever banked with Clydesdale and consistantly changing mobiles the last thing I am going to do is call it and confirm anything. Common sense tells you if the banks going to do anything relating to you it will not be dealt with over an SMS. Although I did however let curiousity get the better of me, called the number and it did seem a genuine Barclaycard helpline. I have also recieved similar 'adverts/scams' from Scottish Power in the past doing the same thing and as I dont even have a house to my name let alone a Scottish Power account I cant help wonder what bast*rds are selling out my mobile number(s) as the only company related to me that would have such info is my provider, T Mobile.
