    its natwest/RBS whatever you want to call them - freds lot...problem is they have no customer service or logic at all,called me to say theres a problem with my VISA, but cannot tell me the problem until i give them personal details, and they had my old phone number which i dont usually use but by chance i was in the same room as that mobile...so of course they seemed dodgy as hell, yet they cannot tell you any info until theyve verfied your identification.Why on earth they cant just say, look theres a problem - log onto your internet banking and you will see it - i dont know instead theyre calling me on an old number and asking my address, which seems dodgy as hell #!!!!!!Or the other idea they could do is to use the PIN code, eg the one where you enter 3 out of the code you have, it works on websites now so why their staff cant use this i never know.ANyway like some of you i was very suspicios of a call from my bank saying they cant tell me any info until i verify my details, worse of all isaid can i call you back and when i did its  ahotline that goes straight to a "please touchtype in your credit card number" before it days who you have called....double dodgyAnyway i am now quite certain this was RBS and have checked my internet banking, seen the problemn and resolved it (other then the hefty fee they will no doubt charge, but i will write and complain and use this article as a reference)

    Claiming to be NatWest. Requested house number and postcode. Asked if I could call back. They gave 0870 888 1246 as call back number. Also had missed call from 01702 279960, and a silent call from a withheld number.

    Panicked for a while after this number kept ringing me, but it did coincide with an overdue payment on my account. I just rang the fraud department of RBS/Natwest on 0845 300 4350, independently authorised from http://www.natwest.com/global/security/securi ... olve-fraud.ashx and after initially not recognising the number, I requested an escalation, so the adviser spoke to his manager who then verified the number DOES belong to RBS.Took a while to get peace of mind, but I finally have it.

    Calls regularly from this number - on two occasions when I picked up the re was nobody there but then a message saying there was operator available to take call [!] Surely this is 'cold-calling' and illegal? When the answering machine picks up the call there is only silence - no message left. Very irritating and I want a way to stop them!  My TPS [on VirginMedia line] is not stopping these calls.

    Number +448453008105 keeps calling me. leave phone of for a day or so. No missed calls during this period. as soon as i leave it one for at least an hour the number calls me again. Never answer. Who are these ppl exactly.

    NOT sure why everyone is going on about illegal activity. Yes ive been getting the calls from this number in relation to a MINT credit card i have.THE ONLY REASON THEY WOULD BE CALLING YOU IS IF YOU HAVE MISSED A PAYMENT ON A CARD OR SUCH.They are not trying to scam you, nor steal your identity.Pay your bills on time and they wont ring you - SIMPLE REALLY
