I received same scam supposedly from Publisher's Clearing House. I received a letter with canadian postage..what a joke!  Check enclosed for $5779 and the phone numbers of Mrs Donna Sawyer 1-866-884-5756 Ext#1 and the IRS agent David Callahan 1-514-803-3763.  As long as people believe free money exists these scams will continue. As I do with all the junkmail....into the trash hoping some unsuspecting person somewhere else doesn't fall for these scams.

I also received a check and contacted PCH to learn that it is a scam.  Always call and report fraudulent mail so we can be that much closer to prosecuting these con artists.  The sherriff was in my office when I returned the phone call and told Mr Hughes we would be turning this over to the FBI and he just laughed.  What a professional act!

My mom received a letter says from Publishers Clearing House that she also was the 2nd place winner and to call the 888 and 514 numbers as well. They also included which looks like a official check for $5,889 to cover any charges that PCH didn't cover. Buy Lo Discount Liquors in Dallas Texas is who the check is from. Looking up them have a 214 521 2051 but of course goes to a fax line. After further review from the real PCH web site she not a winner..Be aware of receiving a check as well from them..Looks very real.

My brother received the letter from Publishers Clearing House also, same phone numbers.  The 514-803-3763 number is a Quebec cell phone number.  Biggest clues to figuring out if this is a scam are the numerous grammar errors in the letter.  Read carefully.  Also in looking on the PCH website, found this specific site with info on how the scam works -- check it out. http://www.pch.com/infocenter/consumeraffairs/legal/news092806.shtmlFYI - PCH official rules say:  winner must be located and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility within 30 days.  So if that's not what you received -- it's a scam!
