When will these calls end!  A gal who says she is Officer Angela Smith from the Bureau of Crime Investigation started calling my cell phone and work phone last Wednesday, Nov. 4th.  The calls came 3 days straight, and even before the legal time of 8:00 AM.  She has called my Dad numerous times, to the point he won't even answer his phone, which I told him not to.  I tried calling the 972-591-5255 last thursday, only to get a message with X.60001, so I left a message (which did no good).  Today I got a "live" man, whom I could hardly understand.  I asked him what company he was with and he said BCI, Bureau of Crime Investigation.  I gave him my name, and nothing else, but they have your social security # also.  He cited I have 3 legal charges against me, of which I couldn't even tell you what they were, I was so mad!  I asked him who the debtor was, and he said uscash net.  I told him twice I have never heard of them before and twice asked him to mail me something in writing with the debtor name, original amount of whatever this was for, etc.  He said something like that information would go to an attorney, but he wouldn't send me anything.  I also asked him for their address so I could send a cease and desist letter, and he just started yelling at me, and hung up on me.  How do you get these people to quite calling???  DO THEY EVER GIVE UP?

People from this company called my employer and told them I was in serious trouble and that they were from the Department of Criminal Investigations and that they were law inforcement officers.  My job called me very concerned that I was in some type of trouble.  The woman that left her name was Angela Davis.  I tried to return the call and I just get "The person at Extension 6001 is not availble and to please leave my name and number."  I did this, then I did some research on the number and came up with this site and see that it is a regular occurrence.  I called the number back and got the same recording and told them to not call my job or my cell phone again and that I was reporting them as a fraudulent company.  I have never taken out a payday loan and I don't know how they got my personal information.  But they are definitely a fraudulent company!!! It appears that they deal in scare tactics to try and get information from you.

He had left a message early that day also on the record  didn't leave much of a message other than saying it was very urgent that i call him back at 1-952-659-3082  when i try calling that number back from work, it just rings busy. He then called back to my work place several times on 2/18/10

Very rude - David Cooper was his name, said that I owed money to some payday loan that I never paid back.  But he won't tell him who and won't give me any other information.  All he does is yell and after reading a few things about this number it is a scam.

someone from this number called my work.  Told the people I work with that I have 3 criminal charges against me.  He called himself officer ben davis with the dept of justice.  Told my name, and ss# left a number for me to call, I called and it goes straight to a answer machine.  Evidently he could hardly speak english.  When pushed by the employee he then said he was with the attorney generals office.  I have NO IDEA who these people are.  I filed a report with the FTC.

I received 6 phone calls on 11-4-09 from this number, both on my cell and my work phone.  Today (11-5-09) I have received 4 calls within 45 minutes, both on my cell and work #.  My Dad also received a call from the same woman at his house!  I have googled this # and found a lot of information that this phone # is a scam.  I am furious that these people have gotten my information, s.s., phone numbers, etc. and that they resorted to calling my Dad!  You could hardly understand this women because of her accent.  She stated she was Officer Angela Smith with BCI and that if I didn't return the calls, "she didn't know what would happen" and I quote!  She also stated that "could be a big public issue at my workplace!" end quote.  I called the number back, armed with what I would say, only to get a voice mail to X.60001.  I left my name and the 2 phone numbers they are calling me at.   I told them that I have filed reports with the BBB, Attorney General and the FTC.  I also said that if they call again, I will report them to the FBI.  I don't know if that will do any good but I don't know what else to do.  I have past payday loans but have since closed out the checking account that was used for those loans.  What worries me is that they will harass (again) my parents or mother-in-law as I used their names as references and that they have my social security #!

Fake Debt Collectors and Collection TacticsIf consumers did not have enough to worry about having to deal with rising credit card interest rates, late fees and over-limit fees, zombie debt, and fervent bill collectors, now we have to worry about collectors calling about fake debt. While many legitimate collection agencies follow the FDCPA, there are some collectors out there that are only running a scam operation and will be quick to use threats and scare tactics to get you to pay up quick. Their scams turn up in mailboxes, on the internet and through the telephone every day. Some collectors pose as national banks, government agencies (FBI, CIA), or even popular celebrity stars to gain personal information. These phony collectors may threaten to repossess your house, issue a warrant for your arrest, or even garnish your pay check, all of which are against the FDCPA rules. Some of which are even laughable (for example, there is no debtor’s prison in the United States).Fake debt scammers rely on the fear and lack of knowledge about debt collection laws within the population. They also figure that a certain percentage of their calls will be received by individuals who may be carrying debt on credit cards anyway and may be susceptible to intimidation. When collectors use misleading statements and fail to provide identification, they are breaking the law. Never pay money to a possible thief. Keep cool when you hear from collectors to avoid this collection abuse. Many times, people who took out payday loans online in the past are most susceptible. If you took a payday loan, be aware scammers may have access to your Social Security number and other personal information, and keep your guard up against such tactics.Ironically, real "deadbeats" probably wouldn't fall for these scammers, since they have no intention of repaying their creditors anyway. But upright citizens may doubt themselves, thinking they've forgotten to pay a bill. Many times, the sums involved tend to be fairly small, so some people may be tempted to just pay the "bill" and "get it over with."Ways to Protect Yourself Against Debt Collection ScamsReview your credit report frequently to find inaccuracies. Be aware of your current creditors and how much you owe. Ask creditors for identification before you provide any information over the telephone. Reporting Fake Debt CollectorsIf you ever receive a call from anyone identifying himself as a debt collector, the law requires that the debt collector provide you with identification, and that the debt collector refrain from making misleading and threatening statements. You can report any problems you have to your state Attorney General’s office www.naag.org and the Federal Trade Commission www.ftc.gov. Many states have their own debt collection laws that are different from the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Your Attorney General’s office can help you determine your rights under your state’s law.http://www.internetautoguide.com/credit-cente ... on-tactics.html

I received the same phone call. He told me that I had a case pending against me and my social security number. He then threatend me and said that if I do not call back that I would be picked up at my place of employee. (yes he said employee) So I called back to speak to " CHIEF OFFICER DAVID COOPER" I asked him why is he leaving threatening messages at my place of employee. Second, I told him if he is going to read from a script practice it first before calling the number so he can sound somewhat convincng. Third, I told him his english sucks and he needs to know how to use words in sentences correctly. I told him "you can not pick someone up from there place of employee idiot its employment". Finally I told him that I get off at 3:30 you claim to have all my information so I will be waiting for you at that time and by the way  "MAY GOD BLESS YOU IN THIS MATTER" of course you know he was at alost for words, I even asked him was he still on the phone. He did noy know what to say. I told him he is not the only person that can run a scam on someone. Any one can do it. So he proceeded to finish off the script and I let him. When he was finished I said " Is there anything else" He said " MAM I DONT HAVE TIME FOR THIS. I WILL SEE YOU IN COURT. Then he hung up. Oh well :)
